OUR CHARITY PARTNERS

We are extremely excited to be working with some incredible non-profits this year. Their work could not be completed without the help from our community, and The Irish Fusion Festival aims to help them in every way they can.

PACIFIC RIDING FOR DEVELOPING ABILITIES (PRDA)

PRDA is a not-for-profit organization providing therapeutic horseback riding for individuals with diverse cognitive and physical abilities since 1973.

At PRDA we strive for therapeutic excellence as we provide individualized, and adaptive Therapeutic Riding. We specialize in serving individuals with a wide range of diverse cognitive and/or physical abilities, starting as young as 2 years of age. Together, with our team of dedicated staff, volunteers, partnering organizations and therapy horses, we work to enhance the quality of life for each rider by tailoring therapeutic riding sessions to achieve their unique individual goals.

DON'T GO HUNGRY

Don't Go Hungry provides free grocery hampers to those in need of food support in the new Westminster and Burnaby areas.

In June 2019, Rev. Laurie McKay of St. Aidan’s Presbyterian Church asked some parents at the nearby school: "What happens to kids during the summer who have a breakfast and a lunch provided at the school during the year?" One of the moms said, "They come back to school thinner and hungrier." It was clear that help was needed.

We learned from families that food programs occur mid-week and mid-day, so if you are working, it's impossible to access food support. St. Aidan's was set to start a Saturday Food Depot program on April 4th. Then COVID-19 happened and everything stopped. But we knew people needed food support even more. As of May 2022, Don't Go Hungry are feeding 900 people every Saturday thanks to the generosity of many organizations and volunteers!
